Because even though I love you, I still think of others…。“送王船”是闽南沿海村落中人们祈求国泰民安、风调雨顺的一种民间习俗。在钟宅每四年举办一届，2012年农历十月，一场空前浩大的“送王船”仪式在钟宅上演。本片以“造王船”和“送王船”为贯穿始终的主线：村民们卜选头家，为“送王船”争相出资出力，造船老工匠苦寻传承人，王船建造过程中接二连三出现意外，令人倍感压力。。在与一个拥有超凡脱俗力量的神秘陌生人发生紧张冲突后，一名男子被放逐到一个专制的平行地球，在那里他为回到他爱的女人而斗争。。
