婉君7岁那年被卖到周家给大儿子伯健当冲喜新娘，由于彼时大家年岁尚小，并没有说穿，婉君与病弱的伯健、骄傲自负的仲康、以及最小最淘气的叔豪天天耳鬓厮磨，一起闹事被大人教训，童年嘻嘻哈哈的时光过去。转眼婉君已经十六岁，到了应该成亲圆房的时候。然而三个少年此时对婉君都怀着深深的爱慕，三个人都前后来逼问她最爱的人是谁，婉君深怕伤害任何一个人，不愿作答。然而事情又走向另一个极端：伯健不愿强人所难，仲康又放不下自己的自尊，叔豪认为自己根本没资格争取。人人都陷入自己的挣扎中，周家的大人看着三个儿子备受煎熬，终于爆发。。The film tells the story of three people for a year: a son (Magimel) diagnosed with cancer, a mother (Deneuve) suffering from helplessness and a doctor (Cécile de France) to do her job: One year and four seasons for these three characters to deal with the disease, to tame it, and to understand what it means to die while alive.。
