为了贴近拍摄到企鹅真实的生活状态，BBC派出约五十人组成的摄影团队，在将近一年的时间里，对生活在热带秘鲁的洪堡企鹅、生活在亚南极海岛上的跳岩企鹅，以及生活在寒带南极的帝企鹅进行了跟踪拍摄。不过这次剧组别出心裁，派出“特务”混入企鹅的队伍中，比如将摄像机藏入遥控企鹅体内，或干脆将摄像机伪装成一枚企鹅蛋。也因此得以在超近距离观察这群憨态可掬的小家伙超真实的生活画面。在镜头中，观众得以再次见证帝企鹅宝宝从出生到长大这一壮丽而又严苛的重要阶段，见证了洪堡企鹅卖萌耍宝的各种可爱瞬间，当然也从“企鹅蛋”的视角陪同小家伙们恣意疯狂了一下。 别样的视角，展现出企鹅族群不平凡的一面。。At a Balkan folk song and dance camp in the woods of Mendocino, California, Sarah reunites with her old friend Isolde and with a song she learned years before about dragons who entwine themselves in women's hair and carry them off through the forest, burning it as they go.
